Linda Crowley, MSN, RNC-NIC, Wyomissing, is the new Nurse Manager of The Reading Hospital and Medical Center’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
In this position, Crowley coordinates clinical and administrative activities on the unit to provide high-quality patient-and-family-centered care. She assures the provision of nursing care services in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and has 24/7 accountability for planning and operations of the unit.
Crowley was previously a member of the staff the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. There she served first as Assistant Nurse Manager and then as Nurse Manager of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Crowley earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and her master’s degree in nursing at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
Kristine McMurtrie, RN, MSN, MBA, Orefield, Pa., is the new Director of the Cardio-Respiratory Nursing Division at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
As a Nursing Division Director, McMurtrie is responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients in the Cardio-Respiratory Nursing Division on a 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week basis. She plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the overall clinical nursing practice and administrative activities, including fiscal, material, and human resource management. She participates in the development and implementation of Hospital policies and procedures and maintains open communication with all staff and physicians to promote performance improvement and consistency of care across the continuum.
McMurtrie previously worked for the Joint Commission as a Reviewer for Disease-Specific Certifications. Prior to that, she served as the Director of Invasive Cardiology and the Patient Care Coordinator of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab for the Lehigh Valley Health Network.
McMurtrie earned her diploma in registered nursing from the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing, her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Pennsylvania State University, and her master’s degree in nursing from Drexel University. She also holds a master’s degree in business administration from DeSales University.
