Berks Encore-Birdsboro has begun offering extended hours for its center clients. Effective July 1, the Birdsboro Center is open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. The center, located at 201 East Main Street, Birdsboro, previously closed at 1:30 p.m.
The additional hours are in response to an increase in center participants and allow the center to expand its programming options. New programs include:
• Zumba Gold classes on Thursdays from 2 to 3 p.m.
• Pottery classes the first Tuesday of every month from 1-2:30 p.m.
• Senior Fitness every Tuesday from 2 to 3 p.m.
Plans also include adding SilverSneakers classes, dance classes, computer classes, yoga and possibly Tai Chi.
“I’m thrilled with the community’s response to some of the new center programming options,” says Patty Barker, center manager. “I encourage area residents to stop in and learn more about these new programs and I welcome suggestions on additional new activities.”
