Historic Exeter corner back in business

The southwest corner of 47th Street and Perkiomen Avenue in Exeter Township is open for business once again! After more than three years of planning and construction, Rite Aid has opened a stand-along store at the location that once housed the historic Fegley’s Reading Diner.

The new, nearly 12,000 square foot store is a “Wellness Store,” the first in the Reading area. The design features increased staffing for customer service, advanced pharmacy services, a private pharmacist consultation room (for consultations or for immunizations) and expanded wellness resources and products including organic, gluten-free and natural foods.
Exeter Township Supervisor Jeff Bukowski joined Rite Aid officials, store employees and members of the community for a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony last Thursday to mark the opening of the new township location. Rite Aid previously had been located about half a mile away, at the Reading Mall.
