NATIVE AMERICAN LIFE IN THE SUSQUEHANNA RIVER BASIN

At the Berks County Heritage Center. Steve Runkle, volunteer with the Susquehanna River Basin Commission, presents an overview of Native Americans and their life during the 17th and 18th centuries in the Susquehanna River Region. Learn the physical appearances, dress, dwellings, occupations, hunting and fishing techniques, religion, medicine and warfare tactics of various tribes who once inhabited this area. Ken Reed Auction Company will be auctioning off the contents from the Former Bause’s Super Drug Store, located at 42 E. Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown. Bause’s began operations in 1935. The auction will include the sale of many different antiques dating back to the store’s original inception. The sale offers a large variety of goods for everyone from the distinct antique collector to shop owner looking for inventory and display pieces. HAY CREEK FESTIVAL
This 36th annual Hay Creek Festival is truly a one-of-a-kind “living history adventure.” The extraordinary offerings include traditional crafts, a home crafts and antique market, living history presentations, vintage working equipment and engines, children’s hands-on activities, a four-square herb garden, Civil War and World War II encampments, antique vehicles and tractors, traditional folk music presentations and homemade festive foods. There is an admission charge. The Hay Creek Festival is held at Historic Joanna Furnace three miles north of Morgantown on Route 10. LIVING WITH LOSS GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP

Offered by Diakon Family Life Services, will meet Mondays through Oct. 15. The group will meet at Calvary United Methodist Church, 831 N. Wyomissing Blvd. The sessions are led by a counseling professional and provide a forum for participants to share experiences, learn coping skills, and understand the emotions that arise when suffering a loss. Hope UMC’s Prayer Time
Hope UMC is inviting everyone to the last Friday of each month for Prayer Time 7 to 8 p.m. This is an open invitation for anyone to come and join in for a casual and relaxing time of spontaneous prayers.
