Yep, the summer just flew by and hopefully we’ll be digging out the denim jackets and cool hats and escorting in the cooler Fall air. Most of our local venues are back to their fall schedules adding more to do to our busy agenda. WTIM friends Pat Garret, Black Hat Boris, Hillbilly Shakespeare and Jim Meck are all bringing their unique brands of high quality local entertainment to the table, making this week another feast of local music.
The big stages run the genre gamut and are sure to please even the most discriminating concert goer. My local pick goes back to my love of the blues and there won’t be a better place to see it played than the Sunnybrook Blues Festival. I have seen most of the bands listed and wouldn’t even think twice about paying the price of a ticket. On the big stages Kansas at the Sands gets my nod with The Offspring show coming in a close second.
Speaking of offspring, the daughter of local guitar legend Richie Kotzen, August, is in a band called The Suits and they have released a song penned by August called “In Your Keeping.” I HIGHLY recommend googling The Suits in general and “In Your Keeping” in particular to check them out. I wouldn’t be surprised that this effort hits the charts in the very near future. Thanks again to Donald from Boyertown for another great lead!
Do you want to see your band or venue listed here at WTIM? Send an email to redneck@berksmontnews.com with the particulars (at least two weeks in advance) and we’ll get it out there.
