NorthStar United Methodist Church, a new community of faith in Exeter Township, is bringing a piece of the holidays to life with a live Nativity.
On Sunday, Dec 9, from 4 to 6:30 p.m., members of the church will present the Nativityat Dairy Queen, located at 5710 Perkiomen Avenue in Exeter Township.
The Nativity features live actors in costume, along with a petting zoo.
Performances will be held every half-hour, which will include the telling of the birth of Jesus and visits by the shepherds and Magi. Participants will be invited to join in the singing of Christmas carols throughout the presentation.
This is the second year that NorthStar United Methodist has brought the Live Nativity to Exeter. Working with the group is Hamid Chaudhry, owner of Dairy Queen in Exeter and Kenhorst. Hamid is providing the space along with sponsoring the appearance of live animals through Appalachian Pet Farm.
Together, the groups hope the event will impact the Exeter community in more ways than simply bringing the Christmas Story to life. Everyone attending the event is asked to bring non-perishable food items, which will be donated to the Exeter Area Food Pantry. The need continues to grow to help families put food on their tables.
At its last distribution, the Exeter Area Food Pantry served 169 families.
Everyone is welcomed to this free event - a time to get into the Christmas spirit while also helping those in need. For more information, visit www.Facebook.com/NorthStarUMC or call 610-310-1381.
